Know Your Karate Club

A Little History

Hartlepool Wadokai Karate Club was created in 2003 by the Jorgeson family,

Sensei Michael, Sensei Lynne, Sensei Michael jnr and Sensei Carl.

These are the grown ups who teach you your Karate. Your Sensei's have done Karate a long time and know lots about it, they have all become black belts and Sensei Carl, along with Sensei Amy, has travelled to Japan to learn even more.

What Does Karate Mean ?

There are lots of strange words and meanings to understand in Karate. Because it all started in Japan the moves and commands are in Japanese. You dont need to know Japanese because the Sensei's,(a Japanese word meaning teacher), will tell you what the words mean until you get used to hearing them. And that wont take very long at all.

Who is Who ?

There are lots of people who help run the club apart from the Sensei's, there is a group of Mums who have jobs to do too and you can see them on training nights they are the ones in the red T-shirts with the club badge on the front. Their names and what they do is also there. A big part of their job is to make sure you are safe and happy. So If you have a problem or need help in anyway you can speak to them and they will try to sort it out for you.
